How a notebook helped me on my Healing Journey.
When I was starting my healing journey, after leaving my abusive and toxic relationship, I was handed a journal with blank pages and told to write. That journal sat empty.
I had no idea what to write.
I felt weird.
My brain would shut off when I opened that book.
Many years went by and I didn't journal. I didn't see the purpose in it.
Until, I went through another heartbreaking, soul-searching, how-am-I-going-to-get-through-this life event. I picked up a journal and started pouring my heart and soul into it.
Do you know what happened? EVERYTHING! As I filled the pages with my thoughts, words, anger, tears, and heartbreak; I started to feel something changing within me.
It was my therapy. My best friend. My person that I could tell anything to.
Over the months of journalling, I noticed a common theme or style that was reoccurring.
Similar things I would write over and over again.
This is where The Higher Self Journal was born.
Every day, I would write out my gratitude, my I AM statement, my thoughts and how I was feeling. That I completed my morning routine. At the end of the day, I would do the same and talk to it, in my journal, like I was talking to a partner before bedtime.
As I talked more and more with students, friends, acquaintances, and even strangers in the journal section at the bookstore, the overall answer was "How do I create a morning routine, with a journalling practice, while working towards my dream life?"
